UTHCPC Nursing provides care to patients on 16-25 bed inpatient units. There are Adult Units and Outpatient Services, and a separate Adolescent and Children’s Unit.
UTHCPC Nurses provides psychiatric care to patients with primary psychiatric diagnosis. A large percent of patients have a co-morbid diagnosis of chemical dependency. The Child & Adolescent programs treat children and adolescents, ages 3 through 17, with primary psychiatric diagnosis. Chemical dependency or mental retardation are present as a secondary diagnosis in many of these patients.
Each unit’s schedule is designed to meet specific needs of the population served. Nursing care is provided 24 hours a day on all inpatient units.
