About Us
At The
University of Texas Harris County Psychiatric Center (UTHCPC)
Outpatient Behavioral Health Services clinic, we never forget
that patients are people. People who can have better relationships
and live more productive lives. The purpose of our program
is to prevent and treat emotional and psychiatric disorders.
UTHCPC Outpatient Behavioral Health Services are an alternative
to traditional hospitalization. This modality, or method of
treatment, offers the flexibility to deal with a very wide
range of conditions. We provide a safe, supportive community
environment for persons with mental illness who need professional
help to stabilize their mental or emotional condition.
The
UTHCPC Outpatient Behavioral Health Services has many different
treatment program options that are designed to achieve stabilization
and resolution of problem areas. The patient and family are
offered services by a team of professionals. The patient is
enrolled based on their level of needs in a time-limited program
with other patients working on similar issues.
We are
accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare
Organizations, certified by Medicare, Medicaid and CHAMPUS,
licensed by the Texas Department of Health and Environmental
Control, and certified by the Texas Education Association
to provide behavioral outpatient services for all school districts
within the State. We are under the umbrella of the UT Harris
County Psychiatric Center and have academic affiliations with
The University of Texas Medical School and most major nursing
schools in the Houston area.
