The University of Texas Harris County Psychiatric Center is grateful for your support of our patients, faculty and our mission. Your financial or in-kind support is an important investment in people and their good mental health. As a donor, you are our partner in supporting mental health treatment for children, adolescents and adults, in educating the future leaders in mental healthcare, providing opportunities for expanded community outreach and in conducting innovative research to understand how to better identify mental illness and to treat the disease that affects one in five people. The quality of life for you, your family, and your community are dependent upon a mentally healthy community.

Annual Giving
Every year, the hospital has more requests for unbudgeted funds than can be met. Your gift to the annual fund can bridge these gaps in funding to enhance the hospital’s programs of patient care, education, research and community outreach/service.
Today’s healthcare challenges require exceptional leadership and a focused direction. Honorary and Memorial Giving
There are a variety of ways to create a lasting legacy to recognize a family member, friend, business associate, or mentor and at the same time make a positive impact on patient care, clinical education, community outreach/service and research at UTHCPC
Providing for the needs of others, on behalf of a loved one, is a wonderful way to:
• honor the memory of a cherished family member or friend,
• celebrate a graduation, birthday, wedding, or another special event , or
• show appreciation for the many ways a doctor, trusted advisor, dear friend, or special family member has influenced your life.
The family or individual in whose name you make the gift will receive a distinctive card acknowledging your gift. The gift amount will not be included. You will receive a donor card and a receipt for tax purposes.

Planned Giving
Many gifts can be structured to benefit you and your family now, and then support the health science center in the future.
Planned giving is a unique philanthropic tool in that it helps UTHCPC enormously, while also advancing your own financial objectives. Your support will assist the hospital in carrying out its mission and provide significant benefits to you and your heirs. You can make a gift commitment through a trust, a bequest, a charitable gift annuity or other gift options.. Make a plan for your future and help us plan for ours.
Your planned gift can take many forms and can help you address a variety of personal financial goals. Ask yourself some simple questions to determine what you want to accomplish through your gift:
- Do you want to give now or later through your estate?
- What assets do you want to give?
- Do you want to make a gift that pays you back?
- If so, what kind of income do you want to receive?
- Or is your goal preserving your estate rather than increasing income?
- And do you want to pass your estate to your heirs?

Volunteer Services
The University of Texas Harris County Psychiatric Center serves those in need of mental healthcare services. Many of our patients have exhausted their health insurance, have no family support and are in need of items and services not usually provided during a hospital stay. One hundred percent of your tax deductible donation of cash or goods goes directly to the patients here at UTHCPC.
Memorial donations or Celebration (new baby, marriage, etc) donations can also be mailed to the above address. Please include your name as well as the name and address of the person recognized so that we can acknowledge your gift.
Goods, including used clothing (pants, tops, sweaters, coats, sox, pajamas), grooming or personal hygiene items, books, magazines, games, video games, movies (G and PG rated), and toys are always welcome. Items for patient events, including decorations, flowers and plants, gift wrap and food items (no home-made items permitted due to health code restrictions) are also welcome.
Goods should be sent or delivered to the above address. We are open 24-hours for donations, and will supply a tax receipt if you will leave your name and address.
