About Us

Single-Session

The University of Texas Harris County Psychiatric Center (UTHCPC) Outpatient Clinic is dedicated to excellence and leadership in the treatment of children, adolescents and adults with mental illness. Our mission is to treat and prevent emotional and psychiatric disorders in an effort to help our clients restore their mental health and prevent future setbacks

Outpatient Services are an alternative to traditional hospitalization, offering flexibility in treatment options and schedules. Patients may be scheduled for treatment fie days a week or once a month, based on an individualized treatment plan and clinical need.

We are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, certified by Medicare, Medicaid and CHAMPUS, and licensed by the Texas Department of Health and Environmental Control. We are under the umbrella of the UT Harris County Psychiatric Center and have academic affiliations with The University of Texas Medical School and most major nursing schools in the Houston area.

leadership in the treatment of those with mental illness. Our mission is to apply our skills to the needs of Houston/Harris County residents with emphasis on restoring patients' health and preventing future setbacks. This can be accomplished through education about psychiatric illness and its treatment, and by building coping skills that generate solution to problems at home, at work, at school or during life transitions.

The UTHCPC Outpatient Clinic has an additional unique mission of the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston of conducting research into the causes and cures of mental illness. Patients may volunteer to participate in research studies. The University of Texas Health Science Center is dedicated to providing quality education to professionals in the psychiatric and mental illness fields. These professionals serve as a valuable resource for providing outreach to the local community.
