Employees accrue vacation
hours every month according to the total length of employment
with the State of Texas. Accrual is as follows:
0
but less than 2 years: 8 hours
2
but less than 5 years: 9 hours
5
but less than 10 years: 10 hours
10
but less than 15 years: 11 hours
15
but less than 20 years: 13 hours
20
but less than 25 years: 15 hours
25
but less than 30 years: 17 hours
30
but less than 35 years: 19 hours
35
years or more: 21 hours (Part-time employees receive a proportionate
amount based on % of time worked.)
Vacations
may be taken after 6 months employment.
Holidays
are specified at the beginning of each fiscal year.
Sick
Leave 8 hours earned for each month of employment after
30 days full-time employment. (Part-time employees
receive a proportionate amount based on % of time worked.)
Retirement
Teachers' Retirement System - mandatory 6.4 percent
deduction placed in the retirement fund. This may be
collected upon separation. Vesting
period is 5 years.
Tax
Sheltered Annuity Available upon request.
Tuition
Assistance Available after 120-day probationary period.
For full-time employees.
Military
Leave Up to 15 calendar days per federal fiscal year.
Child
Care Facilities available in the Texas Medical Center.
Credit
Union eligible for membership.
Physical
examination requirement. Paid for by employer.
Physical
exam includes TB test prior to beginning work.
